| COINS AND MEDALLIONS
Military
Challenge coins are also known as military coins, unit coins, memorial
coins, commander's coins or medallions. The coin represents
affiliation, support or patronage to the organization minted on the
coin. GLOBAL MILITARY SALES is proud to be respected for providing
these treasured coins.
These coins are usually given in
recognition of exemplary actions of military personnel. They are
also used to improve morale and foster unit espirit. Today they
are often used to signify an event, "IRAQI FREEDOM", as an example.
*Coins
differ from medallions in the directional placement of art on the
reverse side. A coin has the reverse side art oriented 180 degrees
from the obverse (front) of the coin. Medallion art is placed in
the same direction on both sides.
*Coins are used by organizations, sporting teams and sometimes as a fund raiser.
*Growing
in popularity are .999 fine silvers added to an order of brass or
bronze coins. Many of our customers have ordered a silver coin,
held a raffle for it and in this way have paid for the cost of their
coins.
*There are stock dies with Service Seals for all branches of the military.
*To see front and back of medallions slide your mouse over the coins. For more samples and history click here. |
